Challenge Durrrr Promotion Launched by Full Tilt

The Challenge Durrrr Promotion has just been launched by Full Tilt Poker – and before you ask, no, we didn’t just get the Durrrr Challenge backwards. This new promotion really is called “Challenge Durrrr”, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen. People are being given the chance to face off against Tom “durrrr” Dwan himself. There’s a prize of $1.5 million at stake should the challenger be able to defeat the formidable poker pro – that got your attention? Well, don’t celebrate just yet. Full Tilt is putting up quite a number of hurdles before you even get the chance to battle it out against Dwan. Defeating him won’t be a walk in the park, and getting to him is likely to be extremely difficult as well.

The Promotion

The Challenge Durrrr Promotion actually begins this February 26, Saturday. It starts off with a number of No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha ring games. Players will have to try earning Challenge Leaderboard Chips, which they will get by playing at least two NLH or PLO ring games at the same time. The chips will be awarded with each pot you win and the number of chips will be dependent on the number of people who partook in the hand. However, you only get chips if three or more players deal into the hand and if the flop was revealed. Scores will be calculated only for those who managed to participate in at least 500 qualifying hands and will be dependent on the last 500 hands that you played, putting everyone on equal footing regardless of the total number of hands played.

2,250 players will be able to move on to the next round, which is a freeroll challenge. Basically, there will be three freerolls held simultaneously. The three winners will be able to move on to the third heat where they’ll play against each other in a Matrix Sit and Go. The one with the highest number of points will be the one to play against Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan.

The Final Match

When the player has beaten all three rounds, he will be able to face Tom Dwan himself. The whole set up is reminiscent of a fighting game with Dwan as the big boss. But, video game analogies aside, here is what will happen: Dwan and the winner will be facing off in four sit and go tournaments, all of which will be held simultaneously. If the challenger wins against Dwan in one tournament, he’ll get a prize of $10,000. Two will give him $25,000, and three will give him $100,000. If he manages to win against Dwan in all four tables, he’ll get the grand prize of $1.5 million.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how this new promotion will play out, so stay tuned for more updates about it. The final match is to be held on March 27, so be sure to mark that date on your calendar.
