Some people say that if you start asking for loans just to support your gambling, then you’ve crossed the fine line between good and bad. XWINK, online poker phenomenon – though many will no doubt disagree – has just crossed this proverbial line. He’s currently looking for loans over at Full Tilt just so he can continue playing. He’s not broke, per se, but he does not want to wait for a week before his deposit comes in.
Desperate? Perhaps.
XWINK has been attracting quite a lot of attention from the poker world lately, mostly because of the massive swings in his bankroll. XWINK actually started out with $4,000 in his Full Tilt account, and he quickly grinded that meager amount up to $2 million. However, XWINK was unable to quit while he was ahead and ended up losing half that money to various players. The problem is that he cashed out $1 million of his winnings prior to that agonizing loss which leaves him without enough money to continue playing with the high stakes regulars. XWINK had to redeposit half of that money he withdrew earlier but he has to wait for one week before such a transaction is completely processed. The problem is that he doesn’t want to wait. So, XWINK, an anonymous player from Vancouver, Canada, has decided that he would simply ask for a loan from his fellow High Stakes players, even offering interest so that the others will have a more open mind.
However, his fellow players were alarmed by the level of desperation he’s displaying, causing most of them to turn his offers down, interest or no. Of course, they have little reason to trust XWINK, who still remains anonymous to this day.
Who has he been asking?
XWINK asked one of his frequent opponents, Rui Cao, for a loan – twice; and twice, he got rejected. XWINK said that if Rui Cao loaned him some money, then they could play; he even offered Rui Cao interest, but the latter declined, claiming that he was ‘too tired (to play) anyway’. XWINK also asked Bttech86, but he also declined. XWINK, however, finally got a taker in Scott “URnotINdanger” Palmer. In fact, Palmer did not even accept the interest that XWINK was offering. Palmer, however, limited the amount to just $25,000. Still, XWINK managed to build 2 million with much less than that, so he should be able to make do with this money that Palmer loaned him.
