Poker tournaments are all well and good, but poker festivals have something that they don’t – and that’s twice the fun, twice the entertainment. This year PaddyPowerPoker will sponsor the upcoming Irish Winter Poker Festival and, as always, they’re going to do something special to commemorate this year’s festival. One of them is an outrageous prop bet by World Dart and Snooker Champions, Eric Bristow and Dennis Taylor.
The Prop Bet
Dennis Taylor and Eric Bristow, two of the world’s biggest darts and snooker champions, are going to attend the Irish Winter Poker Festival, and they have something challenging in store for the players who wish to join the fun. They’re going to be holding a prop bet challenge wherein anyone, big or small, tall or short, can challenge them to a game of darts. Of course, by now you must be thinking, ‘are they crazy? Of course nobody would want to challenge world champions like them!’. But wait, you haven’t heard the whole thing yet. Dennis Taylor will be playing handicapped by a broom handle and Eric Bristow will be trying to hit a revolving dart board. The challenge will take place on October 22 to 23, from 9 to 11 pm. There will be special prizes in store for the successful challengers, including free buy in to the Blind Man’s Bluff and the €200 no limit Hold’em freezeout.
Dennis Taylor and Eric Bristow aren’t the only attraction in the festival either. There’s going to be an attempt at breaking a world record, so if you want to be part of history, you can take part in this endeavor. A magical show will be hosted by renowned magician, Shane Gilen and various live bands will be performing during the duration of the event at the Bellini Bar in Burlington Hotel. Among them are Superfly, Pump up the Jam, and The Whisht. Rumors have it that there’s also going to be free beer for everyone.
Where is Poker in all this?
Now, you might be wondering at this point where the side entertainment end and the real poker begins. Of course, the main attraction of this festival is the Irish Masters Champion, which is basically the biggest event in the whole affair. Whoever wins this will take home a whopping grand prize as well as the prestige of getting the title. If you want to try out but don’t have enough money, you can try to qualify through the various satellites being held on Paddy Poker.
