The WPT Organizers have just announced a new development in their tournament; Tony “Bond18” Dunst will be the next and newest member of the WPT Broadcast Team and will serve as the host for the segment, Raw Deal. With his infinite wit and his signature tailored suits, Dunst is surely going to spice up the show.
Simon Cowell of Cards
We’ve heard time and again that the WPT is seeking to improve its entertainment value by adding onto their staff and implementing innovative ideas to spruce up the set. Matt Savage was one of those who joined the WPT team, as well as the Royal Flush Girls, and Kimberly Lansing. With the way things are going, it seems as if they’re doing a wonderful job at it. But it seems as if they aren’t done with the improvements yet as they have already signed Tony “Bond18” Dunst into their crew as the newest host. You’ll probably remember the message that the WPT organizers sent out a few months ago, about how they’re looking for the ‘Simon Cowell of Cards’, i.e. someone who can churn out the nastiest but wittiest comments and still manage to stuff a load of sense in his words.
Tryouts for the spot were held at the Bicycle Casino in august, and some of the biggest names in the industry turned up, one of them being Joe Sebok, resident good guy of poker. Bryan ‘badbeatninja’ Devonshire also turned up, and so did Clonie Gowen. Out of all of them, however, it was Tony “Bond18” Dunst who was selected. Who is he, you ask? Well, that’s an easy question to answer. Just look for the guy wearing tailored suits at tournaments and you’ll have seen Tony Dunst.
Dunst’s Credentials
Dunst got the job over everyone else, however, because he not only had the mind for it, he had the training for it too. Dunst has background in theater, although he never got around to getting a degree for it, seeing as he already managed to make huge bucks at the felt. Still, Dunst loves to talk about poker and is actually a very active member of TwoPlusTwo forums. Now, we’ll get to hear what he has to say about the game and its players straight from the TV. He has also produced a number of training videos for the site, PokerSavvy and even wrote several articles for various poker sites such as Pocketfives.com
