Poker is a game that appeals to both the masses and the elite. However, there’s no denying that poker is at its most exciting when the stakes run insanely high. A single pot can go as high as $1 million at any given time, as long as all the elements are there. Geoffrey Parker, a gift manufacturing company, has given a whole new meaning to the term ‘high stakes poker’ by creating the world’s most expensive poker set.
How much does it cost?
If a $1 million pot wows you, how much more can a $7.3 million chip set impress you? Indeed, that’s not a typo there. Geoffrey Parker really did make a poker set worth $7.3 million. Insane? Yes, perhaps. Then again, there’s probably someone out there with enough money to buy this peerless poker set. Who, after all, wouldn’t be attracted to the beautiful set which consists of 384 poker chips made with 18 carat white gold and inlaid with stingray skin shagreen, four platinum plated decks, and an alligator skin case with 18 carat white gold locks and frame? The whole set is made even more delicious by the fact that the chips are edged with black diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds – giving the chips four colors in all, namely black, red, blue, and green. In fact, the chips hold a whopping total of 22,364 gems in all. Taken together these gems are worth 1,012 carats. Even the dealer button is special, as it is made of 18 karat white gold.
We can dream
If you want to buy the set, you’ll have to pay a whopping $7.3 million and you’ll have to go through a six to nine month waiting period wherein Geoffrey Parker will create and deliver your special gift. Of course, the price for the whole set is not yet fixed as the prices for these precious jewels may change from time to time. Then again, it’s not as if we normal folk have a chance of buying the thing, right? Still, there’s nothing wrong with dreaming. It’s dizzying just to wonder about how it would feel like to know that the chips and the cards you’re playing with are worth more than some people can earn in a lifetime. It’s even more dizzying to know that there are actually some people in the world who can afford something this extravagant.
Indeed, it’s going to be interesting to watch out for the possible buyers of this unique set. Who knows, it could be any one of those poker pros whom we hear about every time.
