Poker After Dark has always been one of the most interesting Poker Shows in the world. It provides an intimate view of how poker’s crème de la crop operate at the felt – it’s a truly fascinating study in skill, talent, and just plain luck. This Monday, watching Poker After Dark will be even better, as the stakes have been raised even higher. The blinds will be a huge $300/$600 and the ante would be $100. Only a few pros would gamble that much money on the felt, so you can be certain that this one’s going to be big.
The $150,000 Cash Game
There is going to be a whole slew of poker pros in this huge installment of the hit TV series. Some of the familiar faces include Howard Lederer and Phil Laak, Eli Elezra, and David “Viffer” Peat. Two players will be new to the whole series namely Greg Mueller, former hockey pro turned poker pro and holder of two WSOP Bracelets, and also Olivier Busquet, winner of the 2009 WPT Borgata Open. It’s certainly going to be interesting watching them hash it out on the felt. According to a preview by NBC, this week’s Poker After Dark is going to feature intense action along with its fair share of bad beats and, consequently, several rebuys. This cash game is going to be pretty huge and is scheduled to last until April 4th, by which time the next slew of pros will come in.
What to Expect on Poker After Dark
On April 4, we’re going to be saying hello to faces that are even more familiar at the %50,000 Sit and Go. Players include Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin, Melanie Weisner, Andrew “luckychewy” Linchtenberger, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Annette Obrestad, and the Poker Godfather himself, Doyle Brunson. On April 11th, it’s going to be all about Pot Limit Omaha with Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, Brian Hastings, Brandon Adams, and the three of the biggest cash players: Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, and Patrik Antonius. These episodes will be well worth watching out for, especially with the presence of Ivey who, despite being deathly quiet in the felt, still provides great entertainment.
You can watch Poker After Dark at NBC, from Monday to Friday at 2:05 AM. If you like the Director’s Cut version, you can view it on Saturday at 1:00 AM, right after Saturday Night Live.
