Ever the publicity king, Phil Hellmuth has hinted in his Twitter that he might be appearing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’. His Tweet incurred varied reactions from the poker community, some fairly excited, some fairly disgusted, and some fairly indifferent. Whatever you might say, though, if it’s attention that the Poker brat wanted, then he certainly has it in leaps and bounds right now.
Getting his dancing shoes ready
ABC’s Dancing with the Stars is a huge hit, so much so that it has managed to reach its 12th season and still catch people’s attention. The 12th and newest season will be airing this 2011, though who the celebrity participants will be has yet to be discovered. Hellmuth has hinted that he might be one of them, though, when he posted a tweet saying, “OMG! Phil Hellmuth (me!) on Dancing with the Stars! Outrageous! Might make a fool out of myself on worldwide television one more time.” Of course, it’s not as if Hellmuth actually does have qualms about potentially making a fool out of himself on television. It almost seems as if he has no qualms about anything as long as he appears on television. His Caesar outfit at the WSOP is a testament to that.
The Poker Community’s Reaction
The only problem, though, is that the poker community certainly would love to see Hellmuth playing cards, but they’re unsure about whether or not they want to see him shaking his tush in national TV. Of course, the posters over at the two plus two forums have not wasted any time in letting their opinions in the matter be known. Majority of them have said that they absolutely do not want to see Hellmuth dancing at the said show. However, some were possessed with a bit of honesty and said that they were curious and would watch Hellmuth’s performance, if only to laugh at him as he makes a fool out of himself. Either way, Hellmuth has certainly aroused the curiosity of people and he might just bring in more fans of the game through his appearance at this mainstream dancing show.
Besides, it’ll be a whole lot of fun if he turns out to be an excellent dancer. It’ll certainly shut the worst of his critiques up if he ends up getting good reviews from the judges of Dancing with the Stars.
