In a bid to win back their loyal patrons who were dismayed by the casino management’s decision to cut-down the pay tables in their video poker games; Empress Casino Hotel has raised the pay tables on many of their poker machines and even included some new ones for the enjoyment of their customers.
For regular poker players, the pay table structure is a vital factor in video poker when seen in the long-term light. Lowering the pay tables decreases the pay out for the player’s expected return. When Empress Casino lowered their pay tables, this naturally angered their customers, resulting in a decrease in the number of players patronizing the casino’s video poker machines.
BACK IN THE GAME
With the negative impact that the casino suffered from their decision, the management once more decided to increase the pay table in the hopes of regaining back their loyal customers and winning a number of others with their upgraded machines.
Vice President for Casino Operations, Toni Johnson, said that the decision was not only to increase their pay table to entice customers but also to include some of the latest video poker games that are the hottest trend in the industry today.
By checking out the competition, the casino was able to see where improvements can be made and these include having better offers than most other casinos or at least staying up to par with the current trending instead of offering something below standard.
PAY OUT STRUCTURE
The changes include offering their quarter and dollar games with 9/6 pay tables which translates to for every 9 coins for each one wagered will be paid on a full house while 6 coins for each one wagered will be paid on a flush. This will ultimately mean a 98.98% pay out.
When compared to an 8/5 pay table, the pay out will only be 96.79%. This difference when played on a long-term basis will translate to bigger total pay outs.
Empress Casino also has penny and nickel video poker games for those looking to play with lower denominations. In addition to all these changes, the new video poker games also has a special bonus feature that players can win by betting one extra credit for each hand.
With all these upgrades plus the new machines, Empress Casino is hoping to have their video poker back in full swing in no time at all.
