Everest Poker Welcomes Four New Players to its Team

Everest Poker’s Live the Dream Promotion has always gotten a lot of attention from poker players everywhere, mostly because this gives them the chance to ‘live the dream’, so to speak. In the promotion, a list of 8,000 players is narrowed down to a small elite group of 10 or less. Those players are then accepted into the fold as Everest Poker Team Members. 2010 saw 10 members getting into the group, but 2011 only saw 4 new members, namely Leonard “leoledingo” Truche, Tobias “tobestar11” Wagner, Koen “koendb” de Bakker, and Joe “elflacokanu” Martinez.

About the Live the Dream Promotion

The Live the Dream Promotion actually debuted last 2010, aimed at the players who would like to go pro but have little opportunity to be discovered. Everest Poker actually provides them with a chance to do so in three different ways. First, they can qualify through the Tournament Leaderboard, weekly direct entry tournaments, or ring game races. Of the players who qualified through these three steps, 200 will be chosen. The 200 players will then be allowed to attend the casting and will be given a chance to compete in live tournaments and cash games. They will also be interviewed by the big wigs over at Everest Poker. Players will be judged according to their online poker skills and also their abilities at live poker, their PR skills, and also through the voting of their peers.

Whoever gets through this last and final stage will go on to become a sponsored pro of Everest Poker, with the sponsorship worth $100,000. They’ll also be given the chance to compete in the biggest live tournaments all over the world as representatives of Everest Poker.

The Four New Members

Four new members managed to qualify this year, with Leonard “leoledingo” Truche at the very front. Truche is a talented live game player, having earned $50,000 from the EPT and WSOPE. The next pro is Javier “elflacokanu” Martinez who is also a talented live poker player. He won at the Spanish Poker Tour last 2010 and managed to take 90th place in the 2010 Main Event. He has almost $200,000 in winnings last 2010 alone. Next is Koen “koendb” de Bakker, who is very popular in Scandinavia as a big poker pro. He had a third place finish at the Spanish Poker Tour and managed to make over $125,000 in profits in 2010 alone. Last but not the least is Tobias “tobestar11” Wagner, who has been doing great this 2011.

He has had three cashes in all, particularly at the EPT Deauville, the German Championship of Poker, and the WPT regionals in Paris. These four will be great additions to Team Everest and will no doubt move on to do great things, so watch out for them.
