Eugene Katchalov Joins Team PokerStars

Team PokerStars Pro is going to have to welcome yet another star to their already star-studded team of Pros. Eugene “MyRabbiFoo” Katchalov, online sensation and talented live poker player, has just become an official member of the prestigious team.

About Eugene Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov is a 29 year old poker professional from the country of Ukraine. He currently lives, however, in posh New York. Katchalov is a talented poker pro who has already won nearly $3 million from live tournaments alone. Katchalov has won $400,000 from various tournaments from 2004 to 2007. However, the big boost in his career and reputation actually came when he won the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic, where he managed to gain $2.5 million in winnings alone. Katchalov also won third place at the EPT London, where he got $300,000 in winnings. Then, he had a stellar performance at the WSOP 2010 where he managed to get into three different final tables.

He also won at the PCA Super High Roller Event where he got a whopping $1.5 million and won runner up at the No Limit Hold’em Six Max High Roller Event for $131,920. All told, Katchalov has an impressive $6 million tucked under his belt for tournament winnings.

Katchalov on PokerStars

Eugene Katchalov was very pleased when he was invited into Team PokerStars. His very words were “It means being a part of what I believe to be a great team of players and a very professional and serious poker site that opens up many opportunities to its players and pros. I also have a sense of achievement since I am given the opportunity to represent the largest and most successful poker site around. This also gives me the opportunity to grow even further as a worldwide player.” Indeed, if anyone deserves to belong to a high profile poker team, it’s Eugene Katchalov. He has proven himself time and again to be an extremely talented poker player. In fact, his performance at the 2010 WSOP has shown him to be one of the best all-around poker players today.

However, if you liked his “MyRabbiFoo” nickname, you’ll have to be disappointed as Katchalov will be dropping it in favor of the more simple “E. Katchalov” nickname. Katchalov’s first even as a Team PokerStars Pro member will be at the Russian Poker Series Kiev Event, so if you want to watch out for this talented pro’s career, tune in this weekend for any news about Katchalov. Who knows, he might just make the headlines again.
