The schedule for PokerStars’ European Poker Tour Season 7 was finally released Wednesday, and this season’s first stop is Tallinn in Estonia. Satellite qualifier games will commence some time next month while EPT Tallinn begins on August 11.
Also included in the line-up of the series is EPT Snowfest which was first played last season. Danish poker pro Allan Baekke took home the title during this event plus €445, 000.
The 12-stop run of the European Poker Tour also includes PokerStars Caribbean Adventure which will start on January 8 and will run for 6 days. Main Event for this Caribbean stop is pegged at a $10, 300 buy-in and will be held at the same venue as last season’s, the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas.
Last season’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event title was bagged by a 19-year-old American College student, Harrison Gimbel who also took home an astounding $2.2 million in cold cash.
EPT Season 7 Full Schedule
For those awaiting this big event in poker live tournaments, the released schedule is as follows: EPT Tallinn, August 11-16 at the Swissotel; EPT Vilamoura in Portugal, August 28 – September 2 in Solverde; EPT London in the United Kingdom, September 29 to October 4 at the Metropole; EPT Barcelona, November 22-27 at The Arts; and EPT Prague, from December 13-18 at the Hilton.
Starting the EPT run next year, 2011, is the PCA in the Bahamas from January 8-14 at the Atlantis; EPT Deauville in France, January 26-31 at Casino Barriere; EPT Copenhagen, February 17-22 at the Casino Copenhagen; EPT Snowfest in Austria, March 20-25 at the Alpine Palace; and EPT Berlin, April 5-10 at the Grand Hyatt.
For the EPT stop in San Remo in Italy and the EPT Grand Final, organizers of the event have yet to announce the schedules and venues for these.
Organizers See Bigger EPT Season 7
John Duthie, founder of the European Poker Tour, said in a statement that they expect to see bigger numbers in season 7; and if we follow the pattern of the past seasons, we can surely expect more players to sign-up for EPT Season 7. Season 6, as mentioned by Duthie, enjoyed 1, 000 more players than Season 5, which also increased the pool prize by up to €4 million.
The EPT Main Event Season 6 was held in Monte Carlo where 23-year-ol Lebanese poker player Nicolas Chouity took home the title and €1.7 million in cash prizes. Incidentally, Chouity is the second Lebanese poker player to snag the title in a European Poker Tour Main Event.
The EPT Season 7 promises to be even bigger than its predecessors and it is not without controversy as it will be returning to Berlin again this season where the tour was tainted last March, when armed men came in and robbed the cage attendants at the Grand Hyatt where the tourney was being held. EPT Berlin has been scheduled for April this time around.
Nevertheless, EPT Season 7 will surely be another poker tourney where poker players will display their playing skills again to battle it out with each other.
