Drama in the Caribbean: Jeff Garza Spits on Bryn Kenney

The Main Event of the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure was without a doubt full of action, but few know that it was full of drama as well. Some bystanders saw Jeff Garza actually spit on Bryn Kenney during the tournament, alerting security and prompting a classic walk out. There is more to the story than meets the eye, however, as the gruesome details were revealed shortly soon after in the PocketFives.com Forums.

Jeff’s Side

The bystanders who saw the incident were actually the one who sparked the interest on the dramatic event. Retelling what they saw on the tournament in the forums, they made a feast out of the topic until Jeff Garza himself came and told the story. According to him, he and Bryn had some personal issues that he was just about ready to drop when Bryn once again provoked him in the tournament. Bryn, he revealed, was using multi-accounts and using them to shuffle large amounts of money. Garza fell victim to Bryn’s scheme, but he was about to let it go and just learn his lesson, but then Bryn continued to talk about him behind his back – and really, we all know how incredibly annoying that is. Then, just when Garza was walking away from his table, Bryn blocked his path and further ignited Garza’s anger by smirking and making eye contact. Of course, Garza wouldn’t take this. Muttering an expletive and calling Bryn a thieving piece of ****, he gave Bryn the classic shoulder shove. Security had sprang up at this point, but not before Bryn said “If I wasn’t playing poker, give me one good reason…” Then, ever so accommodating, Garza gave him one very good reason – a big, wet, blob of spittle, right in Bryn’s face.

Bryn’s Side

The incident made people dig up the matter of Bryn’s multi-account. Bryn, in his own defense, said that it belonged to his brother. But the difference was that Bryn played high-stakes poker, while his brother mostly played in the lower stakes. So when his “brother’s” account won second place in the 2009 WCOOP and earned a sizeable $1.2 million, it naturally got people thinking. Where’s Garza in all this, you ask? Simple. Bryn owes him money. Bryn said that the only wrong he did was when he couldn’t give the money immediately back to Garza because he was having a really tough time at the tables.

There’s no judgment yet on who was right and who was wrong, but then again, who needs one? The drama speaks for itself.
