As the day 1B of the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe has come to an end, it was player Lari Sihvo who took the lead off to the next day with a total chip count of 144,725. Of course, things are still not final as Sihvo is being tailed by a number of players closely behind.
The Biggest WSOPE Yet

The series saw a total of 593 players who registered for its main event and compared to its previous record of a mere 362, 593 is a pretty huge numbers. This was due to the number of players who entered the day 1B of the tournament. A total of 283 players signed up for the day 1B which is more than expected, thus beating the previous record of 362 players back in 2007 and 2008.
Exciting Day
Things started off pretty well for the Day 1B of this year’s WSOP Europe. At table 12, there were a number of prominent poker players including Bertrand Grospellier, Benny Spindler, Jonathan Duhamel, James Akenhead, and Graeme Putt. There were also a lot of other skilled players around including Filippo Candio, who held the lead for a bit during the day, as well as Sam Tricket, Viktor Blom, Michael Mizrachi, and more. Of course, even a number of the skilled players were eliminated including Viktor Blom, Marvin Rettenmaier, Bertrand Grospellier, Sam TRicket, Dan Kelly, and Steve Billirakis.
Top Chip Holders for Day 2

Of course, things are still yet to be decided as he is closely followed by Tommy Vedes with a total of 142,775 chips at the end of the day.
